Fat Boy Construction began as a custom home builder in 1992 due to demand in the Coeur d'Alene area. Fat Boy Construction specializes in quality construction and structural stability We build our clients they're "Dream Home" and stabilize them with the most advanced foundation underpinning available, The Chance Helical Pier Foundation System, which has been proven to provide superior stability in area soils.
Prior to the inception of Fat Boy in 1992, Owner Zane Kelly, owned and operated a long haul trucking business, a marina and an area store, he worked in construction in Oregon. He also spent 5 years with Oregon's OSHA program as a safety compliance officer in construction, logging, and manufacturing. He has a B.S. in Economics/Political Science and multiple post-grad training programs.
Zane's son Mort has worked with Fat Boy as the family businesses since grade school, and has taken over all aspects of trim carpentry while learning the fundamentals of quality custom home building and structural stabilization.
